Spring will close for the festive period 5.30pm on Tuesday 24th December, and our offices will re-open 9am Thursday 2nd January 2025. From all the Spring team, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

When a possible home move is on the cards, many homeowners are simply unable to make the move they want due to timings and busy schedules. Through balancing work, children and family commitments, many homeowners simply can’t find the right time, and many put-off moving altogether.

For Rachel, timing was everything when considering her next move. And, after finding her dream new home, she needed to make things happen as quickly as possible to make the move she wanted and not lose the property she had fallen in love with.

“We lived in our quirky 3 bed cottage in Heighington Village, in the Northeast, for just over 4 years. I initially chose the house as it was in a nice quite location, close to the local school for my son, and was an easy commute to work,” explained Rachel. “But over time, we wanted to have access to more amenities and ideally be near Newcastle city centre, so I began to look for a new house that could provide what we needed.”

With the decision made to sell, Rachel listed her property with an online agent. “We put the house on the market with Purple Bricks. We had a few viewings, but after a several weeks, we’d had no offers and it was becoming frustrating; I just wanted a stress-free move,” said Rachel.

Looking at other options

Whilst waiting for a buyer, Rachel’s property search led her to a new-build development on the outskirts of Newcastle that was in the perfect location and at the ideal price point. But, with no offers on the table, Rachel began to look at other options that would allow her to move as quickly as possible and not miss out on the new home she had found. “I started to investigate homebuying companies who could buy my home directly from me rather than wait for a buyer through Purple Bricks, and after speaking to several companies, I found Spring. Spring’s website was very easy to navigate and had lots of helpful information about their service,” said Rachel.  “When I called Spring, they were the friendliest and most professional. They were the only firm that did not feel ‘sales’ driven and instead took the time to listen to me. I spoke with Paul Martin, one of Spring’s Property Advisors, and his advice and information was clear and direct. He answered all of my questions and was really easy to communicate with, so I decided to go ahead with the sale of my home to Spring.”

Everything fell into place

With her Heighington Village sale now guaranteed with Spring, Rachel was able to make an offer on her new home and choose a completion date to suit the move. “I was able to secure the property I wanted and time the move to fit in with the new school-term starting. As part of my Spring sale, I was given a licence to occupy, which gave me an extra 14 days to access my old and new house at the same time, which has made the last few weeks so much easier to manage,” said Rachel. “The move went well, although we are still unpacking and settling in, but we’re getting there. I can’t thank Paul and the Spring team enough for their help throughout my sale, they made it easy and stress-free, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Spring’s home-buying service to my family and friends.”
